Press release

On October 2 (from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.), the first meeting of the scientific section "7. Generative artificial Intelligence and the Labor market" was held at the Ufa site. It was preceded by two panel discussions on the staffing of the chemical industry and the practice of using artificial intelligence in public administration, business and the financial sector. A total of 9 speakers took part in the panel discussions, who not only presented their reports, but also answered the audience's pressing questions. 7 reports were heard directly at the meeting of the scientific section. About 50 people took part in the work of the section: at the peak, up to 35 remotely and 15-20 face–to-face. All participants represented Russian scientific and professional communities. The most lively discussion revolved around the risks of dequalification of employees under the influence of artificial intelligence and issues of responsibility for the results of its application in real practice. Researchers and practitioners emphasized that the introduction of artificial intelligence hardly leads to unemployment or shorter working hours, although it significantly increases labor productivity. Experts agreed that, for all its advantages, artificial intelligence is not able to replace humanity, thanks to which technology works for people, and not vice versa.

The second day of the scientific section meeting "7. Generative artificial intelligence and the labor market" began with workshops for full-time participants who were able to get acquainted with the possibilities of analyzing the labor market based on big data and artificial intelligence, including through the construction of multicomponent graphs. Numerous students were additionally able to take a career guidance test and find out how their chosen specialty corresponds to their inner interests. In total, about 100 people participated in the intensive course. Further work took place in the usual format of reports combining real practical cases with conceptual, methodological and empirical research. There were 10 speakers in total, including business representatives, experts, prominent scientists, as well as aspiring researchers with very ambitious ideas. From the first presentation, the tone was set for the entire subsequent discussion that unfolded around how artificial intelligence is changing not only production processes, personnel work and employment structure, but also methods of data collection and analysis in relation to the labor market. At the same time, the ethical issues of using artificial intelligence were a cross-cutting topic, the dependence on which is becoming more noticeable, despite the presence of duplicate technologies. The participants agreed that artificial intelligence has a predominantly positive impact on the social and labor sphere, which is becoming increasingly open to study, even at the local level.
